One of the purposes of this weblog is to serve as a place to publicly record scope comments that were presented at one of the 6 DEC draft scope comment hearings, or submitted to DEC by mail or by e-mail by the 12/15 deadline.

For in-depth conversation on the subject of industrial-scale gas drilling, everyone is encouraged to join MarcellusGasInfo, a Google Group owned by the Binghamton Regional Sustainability Coalition.   You can request an invitation to join MGI here:

However, comments posted to MarcellusGasInfo can only be seen by members of that list.

This weblog is one place where your voice can be heard publicly,  and that’s its second purpose.

To post at this blog, you must first register.  Click on the ‘Log in’ link in the sidebar to the right to register or log in.

The registration process requires you to provide a username of your choice and a valid e-mail address.  You will be assigned a password which will be e-mailed to that address.  Once you’ve received your password, use the ‘Log in’ link to the right to reach the log in screen.   There enter the username you chose, and cut & paste the password that was e-mailed to you.  (Later, if you wish, you can change your password to one of your own choosing.)

Successful login brings you to your Dashboard page.  To post, click the Add New button (near top of left sidebar).

That button will open the Add New Post screen.    Off to the right of your screen, you’ll notice a section listing the available categories.  Please scan the list  and use the check boxes to select the appropriate one(s).

Posts may be subject to review and moderation.

To reply to a post, click on the sun in the lower left corner of each post.
