Schedule for Mayor Tillman in NY & PA, 4/15-4/19

DISH, TX — On April 14, 2010 the mayor of the tiny town of DISH, TX will return to the Marcellus Shale region to inform citizens of negative side effects of natural gas operations, as well as suggesting steps to make the process be accomplished responsibly and respectfully.

DISH is located in the epicenter of the Barnett Shale gas play and is home to a megacomplex of compressor stations, as well as pipelines, metering stations, gathering lines and gas wells.  The town of DISH spent nearly 15% of its annual budget on a comprehensive air study, after months of complaints to the state regulatory agencies and the operators of the compressor sites gave the citizens no relief.     DISH Mayor Calvin Tillman, says that the people of the Marcellus Shale are hungry for information regarding shale gas drilling.  “They are looking to get their information from someone besides the landman or the drilling companies’ Public Relations Department”.  In a previous trip to the Marcellus Region, Mayor Tillman spoke to thousands about his experience with this industry in DISH, and his message of responsible drilling was well-received.
